How do electrolytes work in our body?

Electrolytes are substances that become ions in solution and acquire the conduct electricity. Also electrolytes are present in human body, the balance of electrolytes in our bodies is essential for normal function of our cells and organs.
The electrolytes are measure by doctors with blood testing include sodium, potassium, chloride, and bicarbonate.
1. Sodium(Na)
Function of Sodium: (1)The water regulation in the body, since the water goes where, it is excreted by the kidney, and water follows. (2)It help the electrical in the body, allowing muscles to fire and the brain to work.
Hypernatremia, if there is to much sodium in your body, then you will dehydration, that is cause by illnesses with vomiting or diarrhea, excessive sweeting from exercise or fever, or from drinking somethings that has too high concentration of salt.
Hyponatremia, if there is too little sodium in your body, that might be cause by water intoxication, that you drink too much water, then it dilutes the sodium in the blood and overwhelms the kidney's compensation mechanism, or by a syndrome of inappropriate anti-diuretic hormone secretion(SIADH).
2. Potassium
Potassium is the most concentrated inside the cells of the body. It allows muscles and the brain to function.
Hyperkalemia, if there is too much potassium in your body, you will have heart rhythm problem.
Hypokalemia, if there is too little potassium in your body, that is because the body loses too much potassium from vomiting, diarrhea, sweating, and medications such as diuretics or laxative. It often seen in diabetic ketoacidosis, where potassium is excessively lost in the urine.

What is lightning? Why does wearing rubber shoes help you during a storm?

When flashlight switch on, the terminals of the battery are connected over the light bulb. The connection makes a voltage go over filament in the light bulb. The voltage makes the charge from a side that has the higher electrical potential energy to the side that has the lower electrical potential energy. When the moving charge defeat the resistance, the electrical energy change into other modes of energy, the light. When the electricity go over the tungsten, the filament will issue the light and heat.
Because the rubber shoes can disconnect the electricity, it's a material that isn't easily, hard to let a charge go through is called insulator. Insulator make the electricity more safety, they can keep the charge away from our body.
